Getting Started
Everything you need in Eve-MEEP is included in the main zip file (which you get from the Downloads page), so your first step is to unzip it. You can put it anywhere you want, it works just as well on flash drives as hard drives.
You should see a few files, and 3 folders. The plugins folder should be empty, and the resources folder should have a few files in it.

Next step is to run the program! When it loads, you will be greeted with a window asking you to create a new profile. This is how you configure Eve-MEEP to use the Eve-Online API. Give the profile an identifying name (NOT YOUR EVE-ONLINE USERNAME!), and get your API details from http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/default.asp.

Full Access API Key: Gives Eve-MEEP access to your market transactions, wallet journal, and character sheet.
Limited API Key: Only gives Eve-MEEP access to your character sheet.
You only need to enter one of them, depending on how much you choose to trust the program. Your API ID/Keys cannot in anyway be used to get your Eve-Online username or password, and all data is stored on your computer. Eve-MEEP will never give your API information to anyone.
When all the information is filled in and you click ok, Eve-MEEP begins the process of getting your character information. It asks the API for a list of your characters, then for each character it asks for the character sheet. These files are saved in a folder with the profile's name, stored in the Resources/Profiles folder. Assuming everything goes well and you have an open internet connection, you should see pictures of your characters fill in, along with stats and skills.

If you filled in your Full API key, by going to the finances tab you will notice that there is no information yet. This is because Eve-MEEP has not gotten your Journal or market transactions yet. Eve-MEEP staggers each of these calls by about a minute, so all you need to do is wait. Along the bottom of the application there is a status bar that will tell you what is the last event to happen is. You should wait until both market transactions and journal entries are loaded before closing down the program. This ensures that Eve-MEEP sets the correct cache times for API calls and avoids conflicts next run.
